Pastor John and council will be gathering for a day of prayer on Sat. June 25. This will be a time for our leaders to humbly seek the Lord’s guidance moving into a new season, this will begin with a time to reflect.

As a congregation we also need to be in prayer. We need to cover them in prayer for this day and ask for the Father’s protection over them. We invite you to pray for the grace and peace of Jesus to be upon them and to give them humility and servitude.

We ask the Holy Spirit to convict their hearts to show where repentance is needed for past mistakes and discernment for when to stand firm.

As a congregation we will gather Mon.-Wed., June 20-22, from 7-8 at church to pray, if you are unable to come to church please pray in your home. Thurs. June 23,we strongly encourage you to attend the full congregational meeting and then join us again on Fri. evening as we gather for a time of worship and prayer. On Sat. we encourage you to earnestly pray for Pastor John and Council throughout the day while in your home, driving around, gardening or whatever your plans may be. Rom 12:12 ESV, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Daily Prayer Guide

1. Roman 12:3

For by the grace of God I say to every one of you do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

2.   Philippines 2 vs 3-4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit , but in humility consider others better then yourselves. Each of you should not only look to your own interests but also to the interests, of others

God help us to be humble in our serving.  To look at what is best for the church , what you want us to do, where you want us to go and how you want us to behave.  Putting our own wants and wishes aside and serve you Lord.

Help us not to be selfish and think we know better than everyone else but always pray with a humble spirit.  In this we pray.

1.  Romans 12. Vs 10

Be devoted to one another in love.  Honor one another above yourselves.

2. Peter 5 vs 1-2

So as your fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings and as one who shares in the glory that will be revealed, I urge the elders among you: 2 Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly.

God please help us to eagerly help others.  Willingly putting your flock’s needs before our own.  Help us to be a witness of your suffering and light in Peterborough and Living Hope.  That the decisions that are made and the words that are said from the leaders of this church be spoken through a filter of love.  In this we Pray.

1.  Acts 20:28, :

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

2. Peter 5:2-3

shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock

Father in heaven we ask for forgiveness when we lead without seeking your guidance.  Help us to look to scripture for wisdom.  Fill us with your spirit so we may shepherd your flock in the direction you want. Your way oh Lord not ours.  In this we pray.

Join us as we look at the year ahead. Members will be voting on our 2022/2023 budget.

Let’s celebrate in worship together

Pray wherever you are, for our Council and Staff and for what God has in store for Living Hope.
